Haven of Hope Baby Center was founded by Trena and HCO in order to reach out to the most destitute children of Kenya, abandoned and orphaned infants in need of a safe, loving home.
As there are thousands of childrens homes in Kenya, very few accept infants and toddlers due to the high cost of care for these little ones. Many babies are simply abandoned because their family cannot afford to care for them or do not wish to have this added burden of care.
We believe that even though society and some families may not value the lives of these little ones, God cares for them and has great plans for their lives. He formed them in their mother's womb and loves them very much. Haven of Hope desires to be just that....a place of safety that offers these babies the hope of a future in Christ. We will take them in, nurture them and assist as God restores their health. We will then work with extended families, adoption agencies and/or group homes to transition them into a safe family environment where they can blossom and grow as healthy children of God.
We currently have six babies who came to us ranging from 2 weeks old to 2 years old. We do not discriminate on any basis and will take whatever babies the Lord gives us.
We are blessed to be a part of what the Lord is doing in the lives of these babies and honored to have the privilege of giving them a safe, loving home.
His Cherished Ones International Ministry has recently launched an 18 month goal of raising funds to purchase the Haven of Hope compound. It is a beautiful 1.5 acre lot that includes a large 5 bedroom home (including Director's personal living space as well room for live-in baby staff), staff quarters for additional staff, large shamba (garden), small kitchen shamba, livestock pens, existing foundation for building addition baby dorm, and plenty of room for the babies to play outside. The goal is $250,000.
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future.'" (Jeremiah 29:11) |
